Pedestrian suffers major injuries after being struck by car

A car hit and injured a female pedestrian last Thursday night in a traffic collision that occurred on Bonita and Melbourne Avenues, said a new LACFD report.

The report indicated that the crash happened at about 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Bonita and Melbourne.  Los Angeles County Fire Department as well as others responded to the scene and found the woman injured before they transported the victim to Pomona Valley Hospital, where she was treated for major injuries, said sources.

Her identity was not released at the time of the report, however.

Currently, there are no details listed in regards to how the accident transpired, but it was mentioned that the man driving the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities, the report cites.

Further details will be listed as they are determined in the following investigation.  Police will have to find the exact details of the collision in order to piece together the car accident.  It remains unclear at this time whether or not the driver was speeding or driving recklessly, or if drugs and/or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
