Traffic cameras indicate the accident was a single-vehicle crash

A woman died after being a passenger in a vehicle that slammed into a light pole on Howe Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard early Friday morning, according to a recent article from KCRA.

As mentioned in the report, the crash occurred at about 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Howe Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard when a Mitsubishi Eclipse headed southward struck a pole.

Officers state that the passenger, a female, died as a result of the accident and the driver was injured with minor injuries.  Sacramento police mentioned that the driver was transported to the hospital afterwards.

Furthermore, traffic camera footage indicated that the car was the only one involved int he crash.

Additionally, police withheld the identity of the driver from the report, pending the notification of next-of-kin.  The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, said the article.

Currently, the traffic collision is being investigated by the authorities, and further information will be relayed at a later time.
