Detained driver crossed center divider and struck victim’s Honda

A head-on automobile crash took place in Santa Clarita, leaving one woman dead and others were injured, according to a recent article from MyNewsLA.

According to the article, the accident occurred at about 11:49 p.m. Friday in Santa Clarita at the intersection of Golden Valley and Soledad Canyon Roads.  A vehicle was headed northbound on Golden Valley Road while another vehicle was headed southbound.  These two Honda vehicles, according to the article, side-swiped each other in a collision when one crossed over the center divider.

As a result, a woman was killed as a result in the collision.  Reportedly, one other person suffered critical injuries and another suffered minor injuries, said the Los Angeles County Fire Department.  It was not made clear which victims were traveling in which cars, but it was reported that a third vehicle struck the vehicles in the accident.

Authorities stated that one of the drivers was detained at the scene immediately.  Sources stated that the driver being detained was held for investigation for possibly driving under the influence of alcohol, said the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
