Pedestrian was fatally injured while crossing near intersection

On Saturday, November 25, a woman ID’ed as Candace Hinkle was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene near Clovis and Tulare Avenues in Fresno, according to local news sources.

The hit-and-run car accident took place at the intersection near Clovis and Tulare when a woman was crossing the street.  The pedestrian was struck  by the fleeting driver, who officials later identified as Dashawn Anthony Collins, 25.

Collins reportedly got out of the vehicle after the car accident and ran away from the scene.  Authorities was located just hours after the accident, according to the article, and Collins was arrested for the hit-and-run causing death and driving with a suspended license.

Collins was booked at Fresno County Jail after the incident, reported the article.
