At least two injured in bus collision in downtown Los Angeles

A Los Angeles Metro bus crashed with an SUV on Wednesday morning near Broadway and Olympic Boulevard, causing several people to be injured, according to KTLA.com

The article stated that at about 1:30 a.m. near Broadway and Olympic Boulevard, one driver ran a red light, causing a collision that involved a metro bus.

During the collision, the bus reportedly struck and took down a street light before veering onto the sidewalk and damaging a building at the scene.

As the article mentioned, two people, including the driver of the SUV and a bus passenger sustained serious injuries.  Fire officials stated that their injuries were not considered life-threatening, however.

Additionally, authorities stated that the front windshield of the bus was smashed in and mangled.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
