Car bursts into flames after wrong-way collision on Interstate 5

According to a recent article from FOX LA, there was a fatal traffic accident in which two people died on Monday morning in Anaheim after a car went the wrong way on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway.

Per the article, the car accident occurred at approximately 3:21 a.m. on the southbound Santa Ana Freeway at Magnolia Avenue.

California Highway Patrol responded to the incident shortly after and determined in the narrative of the crash that a “dark” vehicle was driving northbound in the southbound lanes at a speed of 100 mph.  The driver then crashed head-on into an SUV, leaving debris across all lanes of the road, said CHP.

Subsequently, the drivers in both vehicles were killed and the SUV eventually burst into flames, said a videographer who reported from the scene.

Neither driver’s names were identified in the report, although there is an investigation underway led by the authorities to determine the exact cause of the accident and liability for the losses.
