Two pedestrians were run over by hit-and-run driver outside local bar in Huntington Beach

Two people sustained moderate injuries after being run over by a hit-and-run driver after a dispute outside a local bar in Huntington Beach in the 16900 block of Algonquin Street shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a local news article from ABC7.

According to the news article, Huntington Beach police responded to a call of a pedestrian collision in the 16900 block of Algonquin Street on Tuesday at around 1:00 a.m.

Allegedly, a man between 20 and 30 years old with blonde hair was having an altercation with the two victims at a local bar before he decided to get inside his vehicle and run over the two men.  No names were mentioned in the news release, although the police confirmed that the two pedestrians suffered “moderate” injuries and required an ambulance transport to a local hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, sources said that the male driver abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the car accident took place.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
