At least two injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound I-5 near Culver Drive in Irvine

According to onscene.tv, a crash occurred on the I-5 Freeway near Culver Drive in Irvine on Sunday night that resulted in at least two injured.

As mentioned in the article, around 9:45 p.m. a Division Chief from Garden Grove Fire Department stopped to help a driver on the southbound shoulder of the 5 Freeway near Culver Drive when another car rear ended the firefighter’s vehicle.

Authorities reported that the collision caused a chain effect that forced total of five vehicles to hit each other with the firefighter’s car.

The video in the article shows one male victim and one female victim being transported to a nearby hospital through two different ambulances.

Officials stated that speed may be a factor in the incident.

It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were involved in the factor of the collision but the authorities have not ruled them out.
