Tina Marie Murray arrested for the hit-and -run accident on Main Street in San Diego

According to kusi.com, Tina Marie Murray was arrested late Monday afternoon in connection with the fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred three weeks ago near Otay Valley.

Lieutenant Eric Thunberg said, Pablo Rosa-Velez was riding his motorcycle eastbound in the 2400 block of Main Street in San Diego July 3 approximately at 2:15 p.m. when a 2000 Ford Explorer pulled out of a commercial parking and crossed paths with the motorcyclist.

As a result, the motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the SUV, fatally injuring the rider. Pablo Rosa-Velez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime, according to authorities. Officials report Rosa-Velez worked as a sandblaster at General Dynamics NASSCO.

Officer Thunberg said the driver pulled over to stop and see the collision that occurred and quickly fled the scene westbound.

Three days later, authorities were able to find the SUV involved in the crash at the 1200 block of West Frontage Road, near the south end of San Diego Harbor. Additionally, officials report the car has been impounded.

The driver of the 2000 Ford Explorer, who crashed into the motorcyclist resulting in the death of the rider, was identified as Tina Marie Murray, 46, of Imperial Beach.

Tina was arrested on account of fleeing the scene of the crime and was booked into Las Colinas women’s jail in Santee where she is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

It is unclear if alcohol, drugs or speeding were involved in the factor of the collision but the authorities have not ruled them out.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
