1 dead, 2 injured in Lakeside motorcycle accident

According to a recent article from the San Diego Union-Tribune, there was a fatal crash on Saturday night in Lakeside in which one person died and two were injured.

As mentioned in the article, the crash occurred in Lakeside at the intersection of Winter Gardens Boulevard at Gay Rio Drive, approximately around 8:50 p.m.

According to San Diego News Video, the sedan allegedly rear-ended the two motorcycles.  As a result, one of the motorcyclists died at the scene of the accident when authorities arrived.  The second rider as well as the car driver involved were transported to a local area hospital for treatment of their injuries, although the degree of severity was not disclosed.

The identities were withdrawn from the news release at the time, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Furthermore, the northbound lanes of Winter Gardens was blocked by Lakeside fire rigs.  The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash and will report their findings in a later report.
