Driver remained at scene after crashing into and killing pedestrian in Kingsburg

According to a recent report from the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian passed away on Friday morning after being struck by a car on East Mountain View Avenue near South Academy Avenue in Kingsburg.

The accident occurred in the No. 1 lane of East Mountain View Avenue, although it was unclear from the report how the person came to be in the middle of the street.

Sources stated that the driver who struck the pedestrian was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche.

The pedestrian’s identity was withheld from the report, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

The driver remained behind at the scene and was cooperative with police investigations, and the report stated that drugs and alcohol are not related to the accident.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
