Male pedestrian is struck while crossing Newport Blvd

On Tuesday, a pedestrian was killed in a car accident on Newport Boulevard between 17th and 18th Streets in Costa Mesa, according to a local news article.

As mentioned in the news report, the accident occurred at about midnight on Tuesday between 17th and 18th streets.

A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a street outside of a crosswalk, reported the article.  His name was withheld from the report, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Costa Mesa Police indicated that the driver of the vehicle and witnesses remained at the scene after the initial crash and were cooperative with the investigation.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the crash, according to the news article.
