One girl killed in a car crash on Fremond Avenue west of Manet Drive in Sunnyvale

According to sfbay.ca, on Thursday afternoon a female teen was hit by a car on Fremont Avenue west of Manet Drive in Sunnyvale.

Reportedly, an officer responded to a car crash on Fremont Avenue west of Manet drive Thursday at approximately 12:14 p.m. The officer arrived to find a pedestrian, 13-year-old, hit by a vehicle.

The teen victim was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care but could not overcome the damage from the collision and  was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The name of the victim was not mentioned in the article, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

The driver of the car that was involved in the accident remained at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities to help with the investigation.

It is unclear if alcohol, drugs or speeding were involved in the factor of the collision but the authorities have not ruled them out.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
