The driver of a 2006 Honda Civic was killed after changing lanes and colliding with another car leading to a four car crash.

The Honda Civic involved was driving southbound on Interstate 15 just north of State Route 163 in Miramar at approximately 10:13 PM when it changed into the left lane and caused a four car accident resulting in the driver of the Honda Civic’s death as well as injuries to other occupants inside the other vehicles, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

According to sources, the 2006 Honda Civic, driven by a 27-year-old man, changed into the left lane and collided with a 2017 Subaru Outback, driven by a 56-year-old woman.  The Honda Civic then veered into and collided with a 1998 Toyota Camry, driven by a 60-year-old woman. The Honda Civic then swerved towards the center divider and collided with a 2007 BMW 335i, driven by a 30-year-old man, as stated by the article. The Honda Civic came to stop after it hit the center concrete divider, said officials.

Additionally, the Honda driver was ejected from the car and onto the road where he received fatal injuries according to sources. His passenger received minor injuries. Occupants of the other cars sustained various injuries, said officials.

The article states that the California Highway Patrol website published other motorists statements claiming the 2006 Honda had been street racing prior to the crash.
