One woman killed and five children injured in a rollover crash on westbound Highway 12 east of Nurse Slough Road

According to dailyrepublic.com, a rollover crash on Tuesday evening killed a woman and injured 5 children on westbound Highway 12 near Nurse Slough Road in Suisun City.

As mentioned in the article, a witness saw a 1999 Ford Taurus driving recklessly on the westbound Highway 12 near Nurse Slough Road approximately 5:30 p.m and lost control soon after and traveled onto the dirt shoulder. The vehicle then overturned multiple times.

The California Highway Patrol states the female driver, identified as 28-year-old Lydellaricia King, was taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Additionally, authorities report that the children, ranging from 3 months old to 8 years old, were taken to Oakland Children’s Hospital where they are being treated for major injuries.

It is unclear if alcohol, drugs or speeding were involved in the factor of the collision but the authorities have not ruled them out.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
