Fountain Valley resident collided with SUV pulling out of a driveway

According to a recent article from the Orange County Register, there was a car accident on Friday in which a motorcyclist was killed in the 4800 block of West First Street.

The accident occurred just before 11:20 a.m., Friday, August 18, according to the article.  The motorcyclist was identified as 34-year-old David Rorex, a Fountain Valley man.

Rorex was traveling westbound on First Street, and as he approached the 4800 block, an SUV pulled out of a residential driveway, and into the path of the motorcyclist.

As a result, Rorex broadsided the SUV, and was killed at the scene of the accident, according to officials.

Additionally, the driver of the SUV remained on scene, cooperating with the police’s investigation.  Currently, neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the car accident, according to Santa Ana police.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and further information will be reported after more evidence has been discovered.
