Mother of 8 killed by FedEx Truck while walking back from church

Mary Francel was identified as the woman who was struck and killed by a FedEx truck on Balboa Avenue near Mount Albertine Avenue on Thursday, according to a news article from ABC 10 News.

The accident took place at about 10:11 a.m. in the 5900 block of Balboa Avenue when the woman in her 80s was walking west across a driveway on Balboa Avenue, reported the news.  Francel was walking home from church at the time when the FedEx truck struck her.

The victim was declared dead at the scene after authorities along with medical response crews arrived.  The driver of the FedEx truck remained at the scene and was cooperative with the police during their interview.

Additionally, the scene of the crash is now covered with candles, flowers, and messages from loved ones.

At this time, the driver has not been arrested or cited for the accident.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
