At least one person killed in two-vehicle car accident

On Tuesday morning, California Highway Patrol responded to a car accident where at least one person died of their injuries at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Big Cut Road in Diamond Springs, CA, according to a CHP incident log.

The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when authorities responded to an incident at about 7:47 a.m., according to the log.  Authorities say that emergency respondents, including Cal Fire were en route and discovered a grey sedan collided with a black Nissan vehicle.

Officers discovered one person trapped inside a pickup truck, and had to remove them from the car wreck.  Additionally, at first it was reported to have been a minor injury incident, however officers determined that the incident became classified as a major injury incident.

Shortly after authorities arrived on scene, it was concluded that at least one person died of their injuries at the scene of the accident.  It was not clear from the report how many people were involved in the car accident, but at least one person died.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
