Roselyn Ann Heldt named at fault in double fatality car crash

According to a recent article from the Merced Sun-Star, Jessica Rodriguez and Luis Casares are dead after a fatal car crash involving a 76-year-old driver at E. Juniper Ave and Valley St. in Atwater on Monday.

The accident occurred over the weekend when Roselyn Ann Heldt, 76, was driving her BMW sedan and making a left turn from East Juniper Avenue toward Valley Street.

As mentioned by the article, she struck the side of an Acura Integra being driven by Luis Casares.  According to the authorities, Heldt “failed to yield to oncoming traffic,” and consequently caused the accident to occur.

As a result of the impact, the Acura crashed into a sound wall, and both victims died at the scene, said officials.

Additionally, Heldt was cooperative with investigators, the article mentioned.  Heldt was not arrested by the authorities.

Currently, the traffic collision is being investigated by the authorities, and further information will be relayed at a later time.
