Passengers escape from vehicle that caught on fire after crashing into a tree in Palo Cedro

Fire crews responded to a fully engulfed flaming vehicle after a crash into a tree on Deschutes Road near Boyle Road in Palo Cedro at approximatley 3:18 PM on Friday, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.

A black Nissan Altima collided into a tree with multiple passengers on board, according to the report. Additionally, the passengers were able to escape the flaming vehicle before it become fully engulfed in fire.

At least one person was injured in the crash, according to sources. Furthermore, medical crews treated the injured persons and later transported them to a hospital.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Authorities believe that negligent driving may have been a cause of the accident. The relation between the passengers and drivers of the vehicle is currently unknown.

The investigation into this car crash is still ongoing. Further details will be released to the public as it becomes available.
