59-year-old female passenger killed in 3-car crash

According to an article from the Fontana Herald News, there was a car crash in central Fontana on August 4th in which a Fontana woman is killed as a result.

As mentioned in the report, the vehicular accident took place at about 7:42 p.m. at the intersection of Randall and Cypress Avenues where three vehicles crashed into one another after one of the vehicles failed to stop at a stop sign.

A 2004 Infiniti, driven by a juvenile, struck a 2001 Kia Sportage at the intersection before hitting a third vehicle on Randall Avenue, the source mentioned.

As a result, the driver of the Infiniti was injured with abrasions to the leg, and the 56-year-old driver of the Kia was transported to a hospital as well with facial injuries.  It was stated that the Infiniti and the Kia both sustained major damage.

Eva Velasquez was identified as the passenger who was fatally injured.  She was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center by paramedics before she was declared dead at 10:17 p.m., said the article.

Currently, it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the car accident, although police are working to gather more evidence to determine how the accident occurred.  Further details will be released at a later time once the investigation is ceased.
