Edwin V. Boyce, Jr. DUI crash results in one dead and four injured in Anderson

According to Krcrtv.com, on Friday morning a head-on collision occurred resulting in one dead and four injured on Happy Valley Road in Anderson.

As mentioned in the article, around 1:10 a.m. Friday in the 6500 block of Happy Valley Road, a Dodge Ram came into a head-on collision with a Buick Sedan.

One of the vehicles crossed over the double yellow lines and caused the crash, reported the article.

Reportedly, the Buick caught on fire soon after the collision. Single occupant of the Buick, died at the hospital several hours later.

The name of the victim was not mentioned in the article, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Officers said there were four people in the Dodge and all of them sustained moderate to major injuries. The driver of the Dodge, Edwin V. Boyce, Jr., 50, of Anderson, was arrested for DUI, sources said.

The CHP said drugs and/or alcohol may be factors for the driver of the Buick.
