One killed and Thomas Astarita, 65 arrested in DUI crash at the intersection of Nut Tree Road and Marshall Road

According to kcra.com, a driver was killed and another driver was arrested in a car collision at the intersection of Nut Tree Road and Marshall Road on Monday evening in Vacaville.

As mentioned in the article, the Vacaville Police responded to a car crash at the intersection of Nut Tree Road and Marshall Road around 6:00 p.m. When the authorities arrived, they found a 48-year-old female driver seriously injured.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.  She was identified as Cynthia Clay, 48.

The second driver, identified as Thomas Astarita, 65, of Vacaville, was uninjured but was intoxicated during the time of the crash.

As a result, Thomas Astarita was arrested at the scene for felony DUI resulting in injuries, as well as vehicular manslaughter, according to the Vacaville Police.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
