Drunk driver kills CHP Officer on I-880

CHP Ofc. Andrew Camilleri was killed late Sunday night after being struck by a drunk driver in a car crash on southbound I-880 Freeway in Hayward, CA, according to a news article from ABC 7 News.

As mentioned in the report, the accident occurred when a 22-year-old man from Hayward was driving a red Cadillac struck and killed California Highway Patrol officer Andrew Camilleri, a 33-year-old from Tracy.

The accident took place on the shoulder of Interstate 880 Freeway, when Camilleri and his partner were looking for drivers who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
