SUV injures child in hit and run in south Los Angeles area

A child was injured by an SUV in a hit and run on East 87th Street and Hickory Street in Los Angeles at approximately 1:13 PM on Monday, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.

The SUV driver struck a child, a parked black Jeep Cherokee, and a white Chevy  S-10 before fleeing the scene, according to the report. Witnesses say the SUV did not have license plates.

Paramedics treated the injured child at the scene, according to sources. The child was later transported to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The identity of the persons involved in the accident is currently unreleased.
