Motorcyclist killed after fatal motorcycle accident on San Luis Rey Mission Expressway near Foussat Road

According to a recent KUSI News article, there was a fatal motorcycle accident in which victim Chad Michael Gayda was killed on State Route 76 near Foussat Road, just near the Emerald Isle Golf Course.

Per the article, the motorcyclist, Gayda, was identified as the rider of a Harley-Davidson that was lane-splitting between slower-moving vehicles on the westbound CA-76 just near Foussat Road on Tuesday.  For reasons not detailed in the news, the motorcycle crashed into two vehicles, ejecting the forty-two-year-old victim onto a wet, rain-slicked road.

Oceanside police arrived at the scene as well as highway medical responders.  Gayda was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash, according to authorities.

There were no other injuries reported by the police.

Currently, this motorcycle crash is under investigation as authorities work to a conclusion about how the crash occurred and who is liable for the fatal motorcycle accdent.
