Vehicle wreck on SR-91 in Westminster requires ambulance

As stated in a CHP report, at least one person suffered injuries after a car crash that occurred on the 91 Freeway just west of the Knott Avenue On-Ramp in Westminster.

As stated by authorities, at 8:15 p.m. two vehicles were moving east on the 91 Artesia Freeway when they were reportedly “chasing each other.” The cars ended up stopping in the center divider but still blocking the carpool lane, said officials.   Furthermore, the incident log reported that the people involved in the accident were seen walking close to the highway lanes. CHP called for medical assistance due to an unknown injury, after a third vehicle was reportedly involved in a traffic collision with the stopped vehicles in the center divider, said officials.

It was unclear from the report who sustained the injuries, although an ambulance was stated to arrive immediately following the crash to transport at least one person to a local hospital to treat their injuries, said authorities.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash. Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
