Nevada students killed and injured in fiery crash

According to a news article from the Los Alamitos Patch, on Thursday, March 29th 2018, at approximately 1:00 a.m., three teens were killed and at least one person was injured ensuing a traffic collision involving two vehicles on the intersections of U.S. Highway 1 and Magnolia Street in the city of Huntington Beach.

In addition, the article stated that a Hyundai Sonata and Toyota were the vehicles involved in the traffic collision. The Hyundai Sonata was traveling northbound on PCH, rear-ended the Toyota and sent careening into a red light pole at the intersection with Magnolia Street, as stated by authorities.

Moreover, the Toyota was on fire when officers arrived and killed 17-year-old Brooke Hawley, 18-year-old Dylan Mack and 17-year-old AJ Rossi, according to the Orange County Coroner’s office.

Furthermore, responsible party Bani Duarte, 27-year-old, of San Clemente, driving the Hyundai Sonata, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to Huntington Beach police Officer Angela Bennett.

It is unclear how many were injured, but passenger Alexis Vargas managed to escape the flames and was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics. Based on medical reports, Alexis Vargas suffered severe concussion and multiple burns on his hands and face.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
