90-year-old woman was a passenger in two-vehicle accident

Billie Williams died in a hospital after being airlifted from a car crash that took place on Highway 41 in Coarsegold last Thursday, according to the Modesto Bee.

The accident occurred just before 3:00 p.m. according to the article, where a Lexus in the northbound lanes was struck by a Ford headed south.

Billie Williams was the passenger being driven by Linda Sue Murphy, 70, of Coarsegold.  According to the CHP, Murphy made an unsafe turn, which caused the accident.

Additionally, the article reported that Williams was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center where she later died.  Moreover, Murphy was also transported by ambulance after suffering major injuries.  Authorities also stated that the driver of the Ford, Summer Kieffer, 38, sustained minor injuries but refused aid from paramedics.

Currently, the traffic collision is being investigated by the authorities, and further information will be relayed at a later time.
