Victim died at scene after being thrown 50 feet forward in Fountain Valley

According to recent news from NBC Los Angeles, there was a man who died in a bicycle-vs-car accident last Wednesday at Brookhurst Street and Ellis Avenue in Fountain Valley.

The accident took place just before 1:00 a.m. when Fountain Valley Police officers arrived at the intersection of Brookhurst and Ellis.  Reportedly, the victim died at the scene.

As mentioned by the article, the bicyclist was traveling north on Brookhurst Street on his bicycle before a vehicle believed to be a red, early 90’s Ford Mustang struck the victim.

As a result, the bicyclist was ejected about fifty feet forward, according to the news report.  The victim’s name was not identified, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Furthermore, the hit-and-run driver fled the scene after the collision.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
