Two cars involved in a crash after a police pursuit

According to a KTLA article, five victims were injured after a traffic accident took place in Covina on a Friday night after a police chase ensued.

San Dimas sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit of a suspected DUI driver before the crash happened near Barranca Avenue and Cienega Avenue, said sources.

Just before 8:45 p.m., two vehicles collided, injuring a total of five people as a result.  The DUI suspect’s vehicle crashed into another car, said sources.

The suspect was later transported by authorities to a hospital after the crash.  Five others were injured after being involved.  It is currently unclear if they were transported to a hospital as well.

No further details have been released in regards to the incident, although authorities are currently working to close the investigation.
