A Whittier hit-and-run accident sends bicyclist to hospital

According to an article from OnSceneNews, the 45-year-old male bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, that left the scene, on the Whittier Blvd and Russell St intersection, on Friday January 19, 2018.

As stated in the report, the incident occurred around 6:54 p.m. when the authorities arrived on the scene .  The vehicle that struck the bicyclist was nowhere in sight but the 45-year-old male was down on the roadway with a mangled up bike.

Furthermore, firefighters did request for an airlift transportation to USC Medical Center for the 45 year old male from a nearby church parking lot.  The bicyclist is suffering from multiple fractures and facial trauma and is in critical condition as reported by OnSceneVideo.

The accident did become a a crime scene due to the fact that the vehicle left the scene, however a bumper from the vehicle was recovered at the hit and run scene. More details will be released at a later time when the the investigation has concluded.
