Suspect is arrested after a group of bicyclists are hospitalized in a car accident in Marin County

A pickup truck drove into a group of bicyclists on last Sunday morning, causing the victims to be hospitalized, according to a recent article from ABC7.

California Highway Patrol reported an incident where a pickup truck drove into a group of four cyclists this morning in Marin County, causing all four cyclists to be hospitalized.  The accident occurred just before noon on Saturday at Point Reyes-Petaluma Road just west of Hicks Valley Road, said officials.

Allegedly, the driver drove away from the scene after the crash, according to officers in the investigation.  Witnesses stated that the vehicle involved was a dark blue Dodge Ram pickup truck.  Sources stated that the driver intentionally swerved to the right and struck the group of cyclists.

Although names were withheld from the news release, it was stated that one victim was airlifted to a hospital.  The extent of their injuries was not clear from the report.

Additionally, the driver was found and arrested by authorities.  Marin California Highway Patrol officers located the suspected vehicle in the collision in Novato about 12 hours after the accident thanks to numerous tips.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
