Turlock man killed, several hurt in car wreck in Stanislaus County

The death of one 32-year-old man was confirmed among numerous injuries sustained after a chain-reaction traffic collision took place on the I-5 near the I-580 Junction involving at least two big rig trucks on Tuesday morning, according to a local SacBee news article.

As mentioned in the report, the accident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway.

A 32-year-old Turlock resident was killed, and numerous others were injured in the multiple-vehicle car wreck involving eight vehicles, said the article.

An earlier collision caused traffic to be backed up before a big-rig truck driver crashed into the slower-moving vehicles, causing the chain-reaction pileup.

No identities were released in the news, although it was mentioned that one vehicle was “flattened,” and at least one person was trapped inside a car, reported the news.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
