Third car crashed into driver’s side, killing woman

According to a local article from the Orange County Register, a woman died in a car crash on the 55 Freeway on early Monday morning north of Warner Avenue in Santa Ana.

The accident occurred on November 27 at approximately 12:30 a.m. when a 31-year-old woman was driving her car on the northbound 55 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The article stated that she rear-ended another vehicle for reasons unknown, and as a result the car lost control.  She spun out, reportedly, and stopped in the No. 1 lane before being struck by a third vehicle, which T-boned her driver’s side where she was.

CHP officers and emergency crews rushed to the scene to assist, but unfortunately, the 31-year-old woman died.  Her name was withheld from the report pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Additionally, the driver of the third vehicle became hospitalized suffering a fractured pelvis.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation by the authorities and additional information will be reported at a later date.
