According to a recent article from Patch, there was a fatal car accident that took place early Sunday in which one person was found dead and six others injured.  

The accident took place at about 12:23 a.m. when a Jeep was traveling north on Silver Strand Boulevard.

Authorities stated that the vehicle drove over the median near Pomona Avenue at a high rate of speed.  Subsequently, the Jeep struck two vehicles in the northbound lanes.

According to the article, when authorities arrived, they found six people injured, and one person dead inside a Honda SUV.  Furthermore, one person inside a Kia was also injured from the collision, and the Jeep driver was transported to a hospital in critical condition, said the article.

One dog was reported uninjured and was transported to an animal care facility.

Currently, no names were released pending the notification of family.

Further information will be reported later once the investigation is underway and concluded.  Police will work to determine what the contributing factors in this car accident were.
