After consulting with the insurance company and setting up a consultation with the personal injury attorney in Escondido, victims may still have questions about how the lawsuit is likely to unfold. The claim may be resolved outside of court in a settlement negotiation or mediation, but in the event that both sides cannot come to an agreement, the case will proceed to trial. During this stage, the court will determine the integrity of the claim and whether or not the victim is entitled to recover any compensation.
The right Escondido injury lawyers will help network with the insurance company and help a victim through the process of filing a personal injury claim in a timely and effective fashion. Many individuals are shocked to realize that the full extent of their medical conditions may persist for weeks, months or years after the accident has happened, even with advanced medical care and comprehensive health insurance. This can be a very expensive proposition and one that leads to further anxiety fear and overwhelm for the victim.
Once an accident occurs, it is important to contact emergency personnel to the scene and to gather evidence. It may seem as though the evidence can be recalled later on, but often the shock and adrenaline at the scene of the accident could lead to forgetting pertinent details.
Documenting this in the police report at the scene and taking pictures or video of the scene as well can be very important for anyone who has been hurt in an accident. It can also be presented later on to the lawyer as he or she launches their own investigation of the circumstances that happen. Contacting an insurance company is also often involved in any California personal injury accident. Many individuals are under the impression that their insurance company is looking out for their best interests and this is why it can be confusing and frustrating for a victim to realize that the insurance company is focused on their own bottom-line. Our Escondido personal injury attorney at The May Firm has convenient locations in both Chula Vista and Carlsbad to best serve you. Call today!

Always be sure to consult with an experienced Escondido personal injury attorney if you have been injured by the negligent acts of another individual. While there are many local Escondido injury attorneys, make sure to hire a local attorney who handles only personal injury matters. A personal injury lawyer is someone who deals exclusively in personal injury cases.
Insurance companies and local defense counsel keep track of personal injury attorneys they regularly deal with, and will evaluate a claim higher based on who they are going up against in a personal injury lawsuit.
Even though most personal injury cases settle, an insurance company has no motivation to offer a decent settlement if he or she thinks that the case will do well at trial because the plaintiff’s attorney doesn’t know what he or she is doing or will settle low to avoid going to trial. At The May Firm, our experienced personal injury attorneys even the playing field when dealing with an insurance company.
Compensation may be paid in the form of present and future lost wages, expenses for medical bills and other expenses linked to the accident. It can be challenging to calculate these numbers on your own, which is why an Escondido personal injury lawyer can help you from the outset to determine what is most appropriate for you. During any stage of preparation for trial, the other side may propose a settlement offer. Although this initial offer of money may seem very tempting to take in order to put this matter behind you and focus on recovery, taking a settlement offer too early without the insight provided by an Escondido personal injury lawyer may compromise the integrity of your claim and lead to you accepting a settlement offer that is far less than what is deserved.
A car accident or any type of vehicle accident has the potential to influence a victim’s life in a major way and this is why all victims should carefully consider these settlement offers and whether they truly compensate for the full extent of injuries and expenses associated with the accident itself. The right lawyer can assist with this process and can advise a victim when it makes more sense to continue negotiating with the other side or moving forward to trial. The right lawyer can have a big impact on the outcome of a personal injury case and anyone who has recently been hurt in an accident like this would do well to consult with a lawyer sooner rather than later. As we all know, the cost of obtaining a higher education keeps rising, which can often times put students in a tough situation, both mentally and financially.
Our goal is to provide students with assistance in obtaining a higher education, and taking some of the financial burden off of hard working students.
