A pedestrian is killed by a vehicle almost every two hours throughout the United States, according to statistics. Moreover, pedestrian accidents in California were found to be responsible for around 11 percent of all car accident-related deaths in the state. Such severe injuries are due at least in part to the utter helplessness of the pedestrian, as well as the behavior of blatantly careless motorists.
