Westmont, CA (December 16, 2019) – On Sunday afternoon, December 15th, an auto-bicycle collision left a 60-year-old man with injuries in the Westmont neighborhood of Los Angeles. The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at around 2:12 p.m. at the intersection of 88th Street and Vermont Avenue.
Authorities stated that the man was riding his bicycle at or near the intersection when he was struck by an unspecified vehicle. Medical responders arrived at the scene and immediately transported the victim to Harbor–UCLA Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
The current condition of the injured man was not reported as police continue to investigate the events that led to this incident. No further details were provided.
Our thoughts are with the victim and his family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
Recently compiled data has identified the majority of bicyclists who are fatally struck by vehicles as men over 40-years-old. Albeit, bicycle accidents in California regularly end with serious or life-ending injuries simply because of the vulnerability of bicyclists, irrespective of gender or age. Catastrophic collisions can happen at nearly any time, leaving victims and their families with immense suffering, as well as enormously high and unjust expenses.
At The May Firm, our accident attorneys are committed to holding negligent and blatantly criminal drivers accountable for the devastation they cause. If you have been injured or lost a family member in a bicycle accident because of a reckless, criminal, or otherwise negligent driver, please don’t hesitate to call (844) 629-3476 or leave us a message to schedule a free consultation today.
