Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Valle Vista

In 2018, there were 893 pedestrian deaths reported in California. The rate of pedestrian deaths in our state is almost 25% higher than the national average. Pedestrians must always remember to utilize caution, especially when walking at night, or in poorly-lit areas.

In many California pedestrian accidents, a negligent driver is to blame for the crash. Drivers who strike pedestrians may fail to yield at a crosswalk, they may be impaired, or they may be distracted by texting or something else on their phone. Unfortunately, pedestrians have a much greater risk of being hurt when they are struck compared to those in vehicles. When a crash does occur, the injuries are normally serious and, in some cases, even fatal.
