On January 17, 2016, one person has been confirmed dead in a fatal head-on collision in Santa Margartia, California.
According to The San Luis Obispo Tribune, the California Highway Patrol received notification about a head-on collision that occurred in the 5300 block of Park Hill Road at approximately 12:00 p.m.
Joni Kinkel, 54, of Santa Margarita was later identified as the women who died in the crash. Kinkel, driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus, was driving southbound at an unknown speed. The other vehicle, a 1992 Honda Prelude driven by a 20-year-old San Luis Obispo resident was traveling north, at which point, it lost traction as it navigated a curve. The driver lost control of his vehicle and subsequently traveled into the southbound lane colliding head-on with Ms. Kinkel.
