Riverside, CA (November 26, 2019) – The pilot of a single-engine plane was killed after the aircraft crashed in Riverside County on Monday evening, November 25th. The fatal plane accident took place at around 6:00 p.m. near Desert Center, in the vicinity of Corn Springs Road and Interstate-10.
According to officials with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the unidentified pilot was flying over the area when the plane went down unexpectedly.
Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board are currently in charge of the investigation into this accident. No further details have been provided.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the victim at this time
Although plane crashes are a mostly infrequent occurrence, small plane accidents happen more often than any other kind. In fact, 97 percent of all aviation deaths are the result of small, single-engine plane crashes as opposed to accidents involving commercial flights. These statistics add up to an average of five small plane crashes each day and approximately 500 deaths every year. Like anywhere else, aviation accidents in California are commonly fatal, leaving family members with unfair obligations in the aftermath.
