Pacific Palisades, CA (September 10, 2019) – The Pacific Coast Highway was closed down Tuesday morning, following a fatal multi-vehicle collision. Police said the crash happened at approximately 8:45 a.m. at Chautauqua Boulevard for reasons that are still under investigation.
According to authorities, several vehicles were involved in the accident which included a semi-truck, an SUV, and two sedans. Paramedics were immediately called to the scene where they confirmed that one person had died as a result of the crash.
Four others suffered various injuries and two of those victims were hospitalized. There has been no word on the exact conditions of the injured parties.
Police are actively working to piece together the events that led to this incident.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their full recoveries.
Unfortunately, more than 3,000 California car accidents resulted in fatalities in 2017 alone, and thousands more resulted in minor to catastrophic injuries. Although there are often many different reasons why a collision can occur, you may be entitled to file a claim for compensation in the event that you have been hurt due to the negligent actions of another party.
Because of the extremely high costs of medical bills and physical recovery on top of lost wages, many victims will opt to file a claim for financial recompense. It is our belief that anyone who has operated a vehicle in a negligent manner, resulting in the injuries or death of another person, should be held accountable for their actions.
