North Hills, CA (March 10, 2020) – On Monday night, March 9th, five people including three children were taken to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident that took place in North Hills. The crash happened at around 11:55 p.m. on Nordhoff Street, in the vicinity of Sepulveda Boulevard.
According to authorities, officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department were dispatched to the scene in the 15200 block of Nordhoff Street where two SUVs collided head-on. Paramedics responded to the scene where a 2-year-old and two 4-month-old twins were hospitalized. One of the twins was airlifted to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
Both drivers involved were also transported to a local hospital where one was listed in serious condition. One of the drivers is suspected of DUI but charges are pending at this time. No further information was reported.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.
An unfortunate rise in DUI related deaths was reported during the year 2016, according to an Office Traffic Safety report. Due to the immensely reckless nature of intoxicated drivers, it is not surprising that these kinds of car accidents in California regularly result in utter devastation for all those involved. We realize that there is nothing as overwhelming and traumatic as the sudden loss of a loved one, but it is absolutely essential to know that your rights as the family must be safeguarded as soon as possible.
At The May Firm, our accident attorneys are committed to holding negligent and blatantly criminal drivers responsible for the devastation they cause. If you have lost a loved one in a car accident because of an intoxicated, reckless, criminal, or otherwise negligent driver, please don’t hesitate to leave us a message or call (844) 629-3476 for a free consultation with one of our knowledgeable attorneys today.
