Major Injuries Suffered Following Atascadero Car Crash

The driver of a pickup truck is injured after being ejected from his vehicle on May 6, 2016. The collision occurred around 2:45 p.m. in Atascadero, California on Highway 101.

According to Cal Coast News, Perry Aanerud, 51, was traveling northbound when his truck veered to the right. When he overcorrected himself, he crashed into the center guardrail, ejecting his passenger. The truck then shot back into the flow of traffic into the lane of an oncoming SUV, which crashed into the side of the truck. Aanerud and his passenger were taken to the local hospital; the driver of the SUV was not injured.
