Los Angeles, CA (February 17, 2020) – On Monday morning, February 17th, a serious collision involving a wrong-way driver was reported along the 105 Freeway in Los Angeles. The accident happened at around 2:09 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle entered the eastbound lanes of the freeway in a westbound direction. The vehicle, described as a sedan, then collided with another vehicle near South Vermont Avenue. The vehicles involved were later described as a pickup truck and a Honda.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attended to at least two wounded parties but have not elaborated on their conditions at this time. The investigation into this collision remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Researchers have established that car accident-related wounds were ultimately responsible for the tragic deaths of 3,563 people throughout California during 2018, alone. A wide multitude of numerous factors such as intoxicated driving and speeding recurrently trigger such severe collisions, significantly increasing the likelihood that a motor vehicle accident in California will end with devastating results.
