South Los Angeles, CA (February 12, 2020) – Police have now released the identity of a woman who was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on Friday, February 7th, in South Los Angeles. Ruby Cervantes, 37, lost her life in the collision that occurred at the intersection of Florence Avenue and St. Andrews Place at around 6:00 a.m.
According to authorities, Cervantes was attempting to cross at the intersection when she was hit by an unspecified vehicle. Responders with the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene where the victim was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to have remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed as the investigation is ongoing.
