Los Angeles, CA (December 20, 2019) – Authorities have now released the identity of the man who was struck and killed by a motor vehicle in Echo Park on Thursday, December 19th. Jose Vaquero-Gonzalez lost his life in the hit-and-run that took place on Sunset Boulevard at Douglas Street at around 5:20 a.m.
According to officials, Vaquero-Gonzalez was attempting to catch a bus to work when he was hit by a vehicle described as a dark blue Hyundai or Honda with tinted windows. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department stated that Vaquero-Gonzalez was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police continue to search for the vehicle involved as part of their investigation into the incident.
