Los Angeles, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run at 98th St & Vermont Ave

Los Angeles, CA (August 21, 2019) – On Tuesday night, August 20, a woman was struck and killed by a motor vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal accident happened at the intersection of 98th Street and Vermont Avenue in the Vermont Vista section of Los Angeles at approximately 11:00 p.m.

A woman was in the marked crosswalk as she attempted to cross the street after exiting a Metro bus. At that time, she was hit by an unidentified person driving a white Dodge Challenger or Charger. The driver fled the scene immediately after the incident and did not stop to offer assistance or work with authorities.

Medical responders accompanied police to the scene but the woman could not be saved. Neither her identity of any further details have been released. CHP is in charge of the investigation.
