Long Beach, CA (January 16, 2020) – On the night of Wednesday, January 15th, police responded to a serious auto-pedestrian collision that took place in Long Beach, according to officials. The hit-and-run accident was reported at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Third Street at around 8:40 p.m.
Officers with the Long Beach Police Department stated that the victim, identified only as a woman in her 20s, was struck by a dark blue or black 4-door Honda that fled the scene immediately after the incident. First responders arrived at the accident site where they found the woman unconscious in the roadway. She was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in critical condition.
At this time, police continue to look for the driver involved in the incident. Officials with the California Highway Patrol are in charge of the investigation.
